
This advertisement ran in many 2005 issues of American Cinematographer magazine, as well as other industry magazines. I had asked Schneider to create a special filter I called the "Dual Grad" where there was a soft edge grad at the top as well as another soft edge grad at the bottom, with a sliver of clear in the middle. Well, not actually the middle, the clear portion is located one third of the distance from the edge, figuring you would rarely want to put your subject, in my case an automobile, exactly in the middle of the frame. It is a terriffic filter in the situations where you have a dark automobile with a bright sky above and bright pavement (we usually wet the pavement for car "beauty shots") or light colored earth or snow below.
