This advertisement ran in the May 2004 issue of American Cinematographer magazine. It is a still of me shooting my lovely Russian friend Irina Voronina, for a short film I made utilizing the Thompson "Viper" FilmStream camera, as well as 35mm film cameras. In post, we blended the images from the Viper, along with the cross-processed color reversal film, as well as high-speed black and white infrared film. It was interesting using, on the same project, the latest "cutting edge" technology: the Viper, alongside a 40 year old motion picture camera, a hand-held Arriflex 2C, using modern PL mount Zeiss lenses and the latest film stocks. I must say that both cameras yielded excellent quality images. Film is not dead, far from it!
