EASY RIDER TRIBUTE

This tribute to the movie Easy Rider (1969) was sponsored by Arri and shot by Bill Bennett, ASC as an early test of the latitude of the ARRI Alexa digital cinema camera. The camera was mounted on a Filmotechnics Flight Head, which was in turn mounted on an arm on the roof of a matte black painted Porsche Cayenne SUV, to avoid reflections in the chrome on the bikes. One of the bikes is a classic 1969 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead with a side shifter. The colorist was Aaron Peak at Hollywood DI.  The original was directed by and starring Dennis Hopper, along with Peter Fonda and Jack Nicholson, and original cinematography by László Kovács, ASC. The music is the classic, also used in the original, "Born to be Wild" by Steppenwolf.

Cinematographer: BILL BENNETT, ASC
